A kilogram of gold equals 32.1507 troy ounces or 35.274 regular ounces. This is the standard “kilobar” size used in precious metals trading.
It depends on the bar size. A Good Delivery Bar holds 400 troy oz (12.4 kg) and is used by central banks. A kilobar is 32.15 troy oz (1 kg), a 100 oz bar is 3.11 kg, and a 1 oz retail bar is 31.1 g.
14K gold contains 58.33% pure gold and 41.67% other metals. If you have 10 ounces of 14K gold, you have 5.833 ounces of pure gold.
A troy ounce (31.1035 g) is about 10% heavier than a regular avoirdupois ounce (28.3495 g). Gold and other precious metals are always quoted in troy ounces. 1 troy oz = 1.09714 regular oz.
It depends on your needs. 18K is more pure (75% gold), has a richer yellow color, and a higher market value, but is softer. 14K is more durable, more affordable, and better for daily wear. For investment 18K is more valuable; for everyday jewelry 14K is more practical.
